Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Business Administration

This Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Business Administration qualification is for those who are working or would like to work in a senior or management role in business administration. The course aims to develop skills and knowledge of business administration management.

Vocational Learning encourages candidates to submit naturally occurring evidence from their work environment to demonstrate competency against the practical requirements of the course. We welcome other evidence such as prior learning and do not just rely on assignments. This can include schemes of work, assessment reports, course resources and communication records. You are usually expected to complete this course within 10 to 30 weeks depending on the combination of units you have selected. The course has a 269 to 389 guided learning hours requirement. The total qualification time is 370 hours.

Course Delivery and Support of the Business Course

The Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Business Administration course is delivered by either distance, blended learning or as classroom based. You are expected to meet course requirements regardless of the method of delivery.

Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Business Administration Course

You will need to fully participate in online activities and provide multimedia evidence whenever possible.You will be expected to complete the course between 10 to 30 weeks. Candidates who are committed and work hard can study the course fast track and complete within a few weeks.

The full cost of the course is £680. You can also pay using a payment plan by making a deposit of £151 and four monthly instalments. Each instalment will be £151.

On enrolment every candidate will be allocated an assessor who will also be their tutor and the first port of call for all assessments and learning needs. You will have access to resources, coursework, tutorials, events, forums, web conferences, and face-to-face sessions. We regularly host support sessions during the day, night and weekends.

You will be expected to participate in an induction session to fully understand how to use our learning management system (Access), locate resources and your coursework. This induction can either be face-to-face or online. You will need to have a discussion with your assessor to negotiate and agree your learning and assessment plan. You are expected here to discuss about any needs, targets, practical requirements (if applicable) and declare any prior learning you wish to be considered. Your assessor will draft your “Holistic Assessment Plan” which will reflect your needs. The plan will also contain information about assessments, ground rules and expected course end date.

Course Structure of this Level 4 Business Qualification

You will be expected to achieve 57 credits in order to earn the Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Business Administration qualification. A minimum 30 credits should be at level 4. You will need to complete the following 4 mandatory units:

Unit 1: Resolve administrative problems
Unit 2: Manage the work of an administrative function
Unit 3: Manage personal and professional development
Unit 4: Communicate in a business environment

You will need to choose your own optional units from group B or C.

Assessment of the Diploma in Business Administration

The Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Business Administration is assessed by a portfolio of evidence which you have to compile and submit at the end of the course. The assessment process will involve a range of methods such as prior learning, assignments, reflective accounts, witness statements, questioning, observations of practice and work products.

You will normally be expected to complete a number of assignments, submit work products and other appropriate evidence that reflect your competency and skills when it comes to advice and guidance.

Entry Requirements

There are no specific entry requirement. You will be expected to have basic numeracy and literacy equivalent to level 3.

You are also expected to have access to the internet, multimedia computer, printer and a word processor that can open and produce Microsoft Word Documents ending with the extension ‘.doc’. Candidates without Microsoft office are advised to consider free software such as Open Office. You, however, need to ensure your documents are saved and submitted for assessment as word documents ending with the extension ‘.doc’?

What can l do after completion?

The qualification can be used in its entirety. You can go on to complete the Level 7 in Business Adminstration or any other higher education courses.
