It is ideal for candidates or managers who just what to understand the work of an external moderator. and how to carry out quality assurance on external organisations.

You are usually expected to complete this course within 2 to 6 weeks depending on the mode of your enrolment. The course has a 45 hours guided learning requirement. The total qualification time is 60 hours.

Entry Requirements of this EQA Qualification

The Level 4 Award in Understanding the External Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice is open to anyone. You will be expected to have basic numeracy, literacy and IT skills in line with national occupational skills for ainternal moderators.


You are also expected to have access to the internet, multimedia computer, printer and a word processor that can open and produce Microsoft Word Documents ending with the extension ‘.doc’. Candidates without Microsoft office are advised to consider free software such as Open Office. You, however, need to ensure your documents are saved and submitted for assessment as word documents ending with the extension ‘.doc’?

The Level 4 Award in Understanding the External Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice course is delivered by either distance, blended learning or as classroom based. You are expected to meet course requirements regardless of the method of delivery. Fast track is also available to candidates with evidence of prior learning and those who have the time, learning opportunities and can work at a faster pace.


Distance Learning (Online)

This mode of study will stretch you as you need to self-motivate and work against the pressures of studying alone. You will need to fully participate in online activities and provide multimedia evidence whenever required.

Blended Learning

This mode of learning is ideal for candidates who want to complete the course by distance learning and also require some face to face contact. It is also the mode of learning for all work based qualifications where observations are required. Candidates are also free to attend any of our face to face workshops.

Assessment

Assessment of this EQA Training

The course is assessed by a portfolio of evidence which you have to compile and submit at the end of the course. You will be normally expected to complete 5 Scenarios and 4 questions to complete the course.

Duration

How long is the course duration?

We are often asked how quick someone can complete this course? This depends on a number of factors which includes your own commitment, time, assessment opportunities and the ability to study at a higher level. It will also help if you have evidence of prior learning and have access to resources that will enable you to actively participate in course activities.


Candidates joining the course with evidence of prior learning and credits will obviously be able to complete quicker than someone without. If you invest more time on the course such as 15 hours a week then you will most likely complete earlier compared to someone who commits only 2 hours for the same period.


We however expect you to complete the course within 1 to 8 weeks.

With pride with our support services which are designed to maximise opportunities and facilitate your learning. We aim to response to any correspondence within 72 working hours. We usually respond within minutes or hours during less busy times. All communications are tracked are audited reguarly by our team.

All candidates are allocated in assessor who also be there dedicated tutor. You can request tutorials at any time. Your assessor will also naturally schedule tutorials as part of the assessment, review and planning process.


All candidates will be given access to our portal where they can access resources (including videos, exemplars and downloads) and course work. The portal also contain features which facilitate communication between our staff and yourself. You will be able to submit your work and book appointments on the platform


We host regular teaching and support sessions by web conference. These are designed to take the place of face to face contact. Candidates will also have access to online forums where they can gain support from our team of assessors and tutors. These forums act like a classroom where peer support and learning can also take place.


Candidates will also have the opportunity of attending any of our open face to face monthly workshops at our Centre. these sessions normally take place on a Friday and Saturday. The workshops can also be scheduled in other areas such as Birmingham and London subject to demand.


We also provide an online chat which operates from 9am to 9pm (Monday to Saturday). An adhoc service runs on Sundays and during bank holidays. Our online chat can sometimes be open for longer during times when assessors and our support team is active.


Support with coursework

Candidates can complete an assessment planner prior to completing any coursework. Your assessor will then provide feedback and guidance which will help you with your write up.

Certification

Certification

Vocational Learning delivers regulated qualifications. All certificates come from an Ofqual regulated awarding body. Quality assurance activities have to take place as part of the certification process.


We will strive to get you certified as soon as you have met all course requirements and submitted your portfolio of evidence. Your work will need to be moderated internally. This will involve auditing your assessment process, quality of evidence and learning journey. We generally carry out internal moderation on a monthly basis for longer courses and within 72 hours for all short and classroom based courses.Dates are published under events.


Where we have direct claim status, your certificate is claimed as soon as our internal moderator has signed you off. Certficates claimed this way normally arrive within 10 working days.


Other portfolio of evidence will need to be either emailed or posted to the awarding body for external moderation. You will normally get your certificate within 14 working days.

You are only enrolled when you book online and make payment. Payment is normally expected within 5 days after making a booking. We are however flexible with corporate bookings where we might be expected to be signed up as a supplier and an order number is required. Please let us know as soon as possible if this is the case.

The full cost of the course is £235. You can also pay using a payment plan by making a deposit of £150 and one monthly instalment of £150.
