Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice

The Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice was introduced when the old V1 internal verifier course was withdrawn in 2010. The course is intended for those who wish to gain an understanding of the principles and practices of internal quality assurance without any requirement to practice. It is ideal for candidates or managers who just what to understand the work of an internal verifier.

You are usually expected to complete this course within 4 to 28 days depending on the mode of your enrolment. The course has a 45 hours guided learning requirement.

Vocational Learning encourages you to submit your real work evidence as part of the assessment process.

Course Delivery and Support

The Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice course is delivered by either distance, blended learning or as classroom based. You are expected to meet course requirements regardless of the method of delivery.

Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice Course

You will need to fully participate in online activities and provide multimedia evidence whenever possible.You will be expected to complete the course between 4 to 28. Candidates who are committed and work hard can study the course fast track and complete within a few weeks.

The full cost of the course is £175. You can also pay using a payment plan by making a deposit of £102.50 and one monthly instalment of £102.50.

On enrolment every candidate will be allocated an assessor who will also be their tutor and the first port of call for all assessments and learning needs. You will have access to resources, coursework, tutorials, events, forums, web conferences, and face-to-face sessions. We regularly host support sessions during the day, night and weekends.

You will be expected to participate in an induction session to fully understand how to use our learning management system (Access), locate resources and your coursework. This induction can either be face-to-face or online. You will need to have a discussion with your assessor to negotiate and agree your learning and assessment plan. You are expected here to discuss about any needs, targets, practical requirements (if applicable) and declare any prior learning you wish to be considered. Your assessor will draft your “Holistic Assessment Plan” which will reflect your needs. The plan will also contain information about assessments, ground rules and expected course end date.

Assessment of this IV Training

The Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice is assessed by a portfolio of evidence which you have to compile and submit at the end of the course. You will be normally expected to complete 5 Scenarios and 4 questions to complete the course.

Entry Requirements of this IV Training

The Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice is open to anyone. You will be expected to have basic numeracy, literacy and IT skills in line with national occupational skills for ainternal moderators.

You are also expected to have access to the internet, multimedia computer, printer and a word processor that can open and produce Microsoft Word Documents ending with the extension ‘.doc’. Candidates without Microsoft office are advised to consider free software such as Open Office. You, however, need to ensure your documents are saved and submitted for assessment as word documents ending with the extension ‘.doc’?
